CALLAWAY NUCLEAR PLANT - RESPONSE 10 NRC BULLETIN 92-01, SUPPLEMENT 1, " FAILURE OF THERMO-LAG 330 FIRE BARRIER SYSTEM" (TAC NO. M83855)

By letter dated September 30, 1992, you provided a response to NRC Bulletin l

92-01 for the Callaway Nuclear Plant.

Your response stated that compensatory measures have been implemented consistent with the plant Technical Specifi-cations.

You also stated that you would continue to monitor industry testing for new data that should be applied to your Thermo-Lag installations and would actively participate in NUMARC efforts to reach a final resolution.

We have reviewed your response and find it acceptable.

Please inform us of the completion of any additional corrective actions that are taken.

Further NRC review, if any, will be performed by inspection or audit, i

The information requested by this letter is within the scope of the overall l

burden estimate in Generic Letter 92-08, which was an average of 300 person-I hours for each addressee's response, this request is covered by office of Management and budget Clearance number 3150-0011, which expires June 30, 1994.

This action closes TAC No. M83855.
