)

Vibration and Loose Parts Monitoring System Channels 3 and 9 i

i On April 8,1993, channels 3 (Upper Reactor Vessel A) and 9 (Steam Generator A) were declared inoperable. Channel 3 was declared inoperable because it exhibits background noise t' at is lower than in previous measurements and f

indicates that the previous calibration is no longer valid. Work requests have been written to repair Channel 3 (#93012615) and Channel 9 ($93012646). This system (sensors, cables, control room equipment, etc. ) is schertuled to be i

replaced during the next unit 2 refueling outage. The following channels are operable and provide coverage as noted:

Channel 4 :

Upper Reactor Vessel B i

Channel 5:

Since these channels have been inoperable for more than 30 days, they are reportable to the NRC pursuant to Technical Specification 3.3.3.9.
