REASON FOR THE VIOLATION:
Westex did not have a Quality Assurance Program Approved by the NRC for Use, Maintenance, and Repair of Shipping Containers for Radioactive Material Packages.
We had no Certificate of Compliance for Radioactive Material Packages.
We had not registered as an authorized user of HRC-l Approved transport packages.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN BY WESTEX i
l 1.
Prepared a Quality Assurance program as submitted with this enclosure for your review.
2.
Register as a user of the Type B-Packages that we will be Shipping / Transporting.(See attached Registration l
Letter).
3.
Have a copy of the Certificate of Compliance on file i
with all the referenced documents to include:
A.
The Referenced Drawings.
B.
The operating and Maintenance Manual for the Package.
Note: Reference Westex Company Operating and Emergency Procedures for Specific Instructions for "B" above.
DATE WHEN FULL COMPLIANCE WILL BE ACHEIVED.
All Corrective Actions are Complete, We are waiting for NRC I
