This refers to the requalification retake examination administered by Mr. J. S. Stewart on
.

February 12,1993, at Millstone Unit 1 Nuclear Power Station. The examination was
conducted in accordance with NUREG-1021, " Operator Licensing Examiner Standards,"
Rev. 6. Additionally, a review was conducted of corrective actions taken by your staff as a
result of the 1992 unsatisfactory requalification program.
The individual operator examined passed the retake examination by correctly classifying a
'
simulator scenario in accordance with the emergency plan classification guide. In the
inspection, it was verified that individualized training plans are in place and being completed
for individual operators that have not yet passed the NRC licensed operator requalification
[

examination.

On February 12,1993, at the conclusion of the examination and inspection, findings related
!
to the- preparation and administration of the requalification retake examination and inspection
findings were discussed with Mr. P. Prezkop and other members of your staff identified in
'
the enclosed report.
