This refers to the inspection' conducted by Mr. L. T. Ricketson of this office

during the period June 4-8, 1990, of activities authorized by N3C Operating

License DPR-46.for Cooper Nuclear Station, and'to the discussion of our

findings with-Mr. G. R. Horn and other members of your staff at the conclusion

of the inspection.

Areas examined during the. inspection included portions of your radiation

protection program activities. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of.

selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with

Lpersonnel, and observations by the inspector. -The inspection findings are

documented in the enclosed-inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified. One open item, which your staff committed to address, is discussed

in: paragraph 5 of the enclosed report and concerns the lack of technical

training for managers and supervisors.
