PLANNED MOVE OF LOCAL PUBLIC DOCUMENT ROOM FOR COMANCllE PEAX The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has found that the Comanche Peak Local Public Document Room (LPDR), located at the Glen Rose-Somervell County Public Library on the Square in Glen Rose, Texas, no longer has sufficient space'for collection and maintenance of all publicly available documents on the Comanche Peak docket..

Consequently, we have decided to establish the current mini-LPDR located at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)

Library, as the LPDR for Comanche Peak.

During the week of June 4, 1990, staff from NRC's Office of Administration, Freedom of Information Act/ Local Public Document Room Branch, will be working with both libraries to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of the Comanche Peak holdings.

They will also see to the installation of Equipment to enhance the new LPDR's capabilities and train the UTA staff in using this equipment.

l In~the way of enhancements, the new LPDR will have computer access to NRC's NUDOCS/AD (Nuclear Documents System / Advanced Design) and will have microfiche for all NRC documents in NUDOCS/AD that have been made publicly available since January, 1981, which includes those for the Comanche Peak dockets.

These new capabilities will provide LPDR users with quick and convenient access to the Comanche Peak collection and to a wider range of documents than is currently available to them at the LPDR in Glen Rose.

The Glen Rose-Somervell County Public Library will' continue to receive weekly accession lists for Comanche Peak.

These lists will identify all'publicl available documents on the Comanche Peak docket that are indexed for NRC'ys NUDOCS/AD during a particular week.

Copies of documents shown on these lists will be available for viewing and copying at the UTA Library and at the NRC's Public Document Room (2120 L Street [ Lower Level], N.W., Washington, D.C.
