NRC Inspection Report Number 50-289/90-11
This letter refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. H. Gregg
of this office on May 3-11, 1990 at Three Mile Island Unit 1, Middletown,
Pennsylvania, and on May 14-15, 1990 at the GPU Nuclear Corporate Office in
Parsippanny, New Jersey.
Mr. Gregg discussed the findings of the inspection
with Mr. G. R. Skillman of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on
-
May 11, 1990 and Mr. P. Moor at the conclusion of the inspection on May 15, 1990.
This inspection was directed at activities related to design and design
changes, installation and testing of modifications, and engineering suppcrt of
activities for Three Mile Island Unit 1.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region !
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of. procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed, however, one'
unresolved item was identified.
