BULLETIN 88-05 REGARDING PRODUCT FORMS OTHER THAN FITTINGS AND FLANGES FOR THE PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT UNIT NO. 1 (TAC NO. 68808)
The NRC staff has recently issued NUREG-1402 to close out NRC Bulletin 88-05 and Supplements 1 and 2 regarding fittings and flanges supplied by Piping Systems,. Inc. (PSI), West Jersey Manufacturing Company (WJM), and Chews Landing Metal Manufacturers, Inc. (CLM), which are installed in operating nuclear power olants. Supplement 2 of the subject bulletin contains an w1ich is a list of product forms supplied by PSI, WJM, and CLM which includes items other than fittings and flanges.
As indicated on this list, the NRC review of the avaliable records identified the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No. I as m.e plant site which received unique or special orders of some of these materials.
The )urpose of this letter is to request information regarding the disposition i
of 1115 material. While Supplement 2 temporarily suspended the field measure-ments, testing, records review, and the preparation of justifications for con-tinued operation (JCOs), the staff has since determined that it is appropriate to resume these activities at your facility for the product forms otler than fittings and flanges. Accordingly, please provide the following information:
The quantity and type of all PSI, WJM, and CLM product forms other than fittings and flanges supplied to the the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No. I site, including an itemization of those items installed in safety-related applications.
The plan and schedule for performing field measurements or other tests on those items installed in safety-related applications to verify the physical and chemical properties of the paterial.
The plan and schedule for performing JCOs for those items installed in safety-related applications where material properties are found to be less than those in the appropriate material specification.
The plan for future use of PSI, WJM, or CLM material other than fittings and flanges which is in storage.
