This refers to your letter dated May 7,1990, regarding certain 1-inch uranium hexafluoride (Ur ) cylinder valves manufactured by Superior Valve Company.
6 On August 19, 1987, the NRC issued an Order Modifying License that

(1) prohibits filling, heating, emptying, or delivering to a c.strier.for transport 48-inch and 30-inch diameter UF cylinders fitted with Superior ValveCompany1-inchalloyvalves,manufackuredinSuperiorValveCompany.
lots numbered 16 through_22 inclusive, and-(2) requires that all 1-inch Superior valves for use in UF cylinders in your warehouse stock be carefully inspected. All valves sh$11 be reinspected before fitting into cylinders. All defective valves found in stock ci regardless of lot number or manufacturer shall be reported to the Administrator of the appropriate NRC office.
On September 25, 1987, the NRC modified the Order to read lots numbered 17 through 22.-
By letter dated December 20, 1989, the NRC informed you that the Order would be rescinded if you provided in writing that all valves from heat lots 17 through 22'have been returned to Superior Valve Company for refurbishment or have been destroyed.
In the letter dated May 7,1990, you stated that General Electric received 207 1-inch valves from Superior heat lots 17 through 22.
Furthermore, you added that 205 of these valves were returned to Superior for~ refurbishment while the remaining 2 have been made unsuitable for use.
Accordingly, based on the information in'your letter, the NRC Order-issued to General Electric Company on
-August 19, 1987, as modified on September 25, 1987, is hereby rescinded.
