This letter refers to the. routine safeguards inspection conducted by
Messrs. R. J. Albert and W. K. Lancaster of this office on April 16-20, 1990,
of activities at.the Yankee Nuclear Power Station, Rowe, Massachusetts
authorized by NRC license No. DPR-3, and to the discussions of our: findings
held by Mr' Albert:with Mr. T. Henderson and other members of your staff at
.
the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I .Inspec-
tion Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within.these areas, the inspec-
tion consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
- Within the scope of this inspection, r.o violations were observed.
Sections of the enclosed inspection report contain detcils of your security
program that have been determined to be exempt f e public disclosure in-
= accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Inforv
on). -Therefore, the section>
so identified will not be placed in the NRC put.iic document room and will
receive limited distribution. This letter and the remainder of the inspection
report will be placed in the public document room, in accordsnce with 10 CFR 2.790(a).
