HADDAM NECK PLANT - CLOSE00T OF GENERIC LETTER 89-19. " REQUEST FOR ACTION RELATED TO RESOLUTION OF UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUE A-47 ' SAFETY IMPLICATION OF CONTROL SYSTEMS IN LWR I:UCLEAR POWERPLANT'PURSUANTTOCFR50.54(F)"(TAC #74947)
Your letter dated March 27, 1990, responded to Generic Letter (GL)-89-19 for the Haddam Neck Plant. The GL singled out Haddam Neck as the only Group 11 plant and requestod that you 1) provide justification for the adequacy of the design of the steam generator overfill system and 2) provide plant procedures and technical specifications to periodically verify the operability of this system. Your response stated that your plant fully meets the intent of the requirements provided in the GL, In addition during a site visit on April 9 10, 1990, your staff informed me that a technical specification and surveillance procedures are being prepared for this syrtem.- A detailed technical review of your response has not been performed and therefore approval of your. design is neither intended nor implied. However, your confirmation provides an adequate basis to consider our review of your response complete.
Further NRC review, if any, will be performed by inspection or audit.
