Dear Mr. Congel:

Enclosed is a ocpy of the final exercise report for the June 6-7, 1989, partial-participation joint exercise of the offsite radiological emenjency preparedness plans site-specific to the V. C. Suruner Nuclear Power Plant.

Fairfield, Imxington, Newberry, and Richland Counties, all located in the 10-mile plume emergency planning zone, participated in the exercise.

We State of South Carolina partially particjpated in the exercise.

Were were no deficiencies identified durirxy this exercise.

'Ihere were,

however, 13 areas requiring corrective actions and several areas rm=+Med for inprovement.

We exercise report was prepared by the Region IV staff of the Federal Dnergency Management W'.

plans and preparedness are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological' emergency at the site.
