o This is to inform the members of the Licensing Board that-the NRC Staff does not intend to file a response to Vermont Yankee's motions to compel answers, filed on April 24 and May 4, 1990. Further, the Staff would like to use this occasion to inform the Board that the Staff will not ordinarily take a position regarding discovery disputes to which it is not.a party and that the Board may, therefore, take action regarding such discovery disputes without awaiting a response from s
the Staff.
In the unlikely event that the Staff ~ sees a need to file a response 1
regarding a discovery dispute to which it is not a party, the' Staff will timely inform the Board of its intention to file.
