spectively, the Conaission was notified of the intent of the staff to issue Notices of Violation-and Proposed Impositions of Civil Pendity in the amount

of $50,000-to Florida Power Corporation and Washington Public Power Supply i

System. These actions were based on the licensees' failures to assure that-commercial grade items procured and installed in safety-related systems were i

suitable for such applications.. After receiving and reviewing the licensee's responses the staff submitted SECY 90-076 to the Commission which, in part, y

recommended the withdrawal of these actions.

By memorandum dated April 11, 1990 the Consission approved the staff's proposal to withdraw the, proposed actions. By letters dated April 27, 1990 the licensees were informed of the staff's decision to withdraw the actions.
