The purpose of this conference is to exchange information between NRC and l
l licensee staffs on issues of mutus) interest relating to power reactor radiological controls programs. Members of my staff have contacted your RPM l
l as well as RPMs at other stations within Region ! in order to identify topics j
of particular interest.

l As a result of our initial contacts, we plan to make presentations on NRC
{
l requirements and expectations in such areas as High Radiation Area access control, hot particle controls, and radiation exposures to females. We also j
i plan to discuss the status of the proposed 10 CFR 20. Topics such as the EPA 1
Clean Air Act reporting requirements, transportation activities, low level waste storage, laboratory measurements, and effluent monitors will be included if sufficient interest is expressed in these areas. We encourage licensee staffs' participation, presentations, and frank discussions during the conference.
We are inviting you to send your RPM and his deputy or other person in a i
similar capacity to the conference. To facilitate planning, we would like you
}
to inform us of the names of your staff members who plan to attend, proposed i
topict you would like to place on the agenda as well as the titles and brief summaries of any presentations which your staff would like to give during the confersnce.
This information is requested no later than March 31, 1990.
The conference will be held at the Valley Forpe Hilton, King of Prussia, l
Pennsylvania. Based on initial projections o" attendance, we have set aside a block of 60 rooms at the Valley Forge Hilton.
Room reservations at the Hilton should t>e confirmed prior to May 7,1990. Detatis regarding this hotel and other hotels in the area are enclosed.

Your staff should contact him for details regarding this pre-conference meeting.
