ANDREW E. MCNAMARA TELEPHONE 1 (315) 524-4446 Ext. 205, 293 at Ginna AUGUST, 1981 MONTH The reactor power level averaged 100% for the majority of the report month, with the following exceptions:
On 8/3/81, the reactor power level was reduced to ~ 95% due to a rod stop runback due to a contractor bumping a rod control cabinet.
On 8/24/81, the reactor power level was reduced to ~97% to perform a periodic test on the auxiliary feedwater system.
On 8/25/81, the reactor power level was reduced to ~ 99% to perform a periodic test on the standby auxiliary feedwater system flow.
On 8/30/81, the reactor power level was reduced to ~47% to perform a series of turbine valve and trip tests.

. GINNA STATION MAINTENANCE REPORT AUGUST, 1981 During Augus t, normal maintenar.:e and inspections were performed.
Major safety related maintenance included:
1.
Venting of one pressurizer level condensate pot that filled with non-condensable gasses.
This pot was giving f alse indication to a normal pressurizer level and a cold calibrated level.
2.
Repair of a leaking check valve on a containment spray pump discharge line.
