SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR THE MONTH DOCKET NO.
50-206 UNIT SONGS 1 DATE 1 0/2/81 COMPLETED BY T. RAIDY - __
TELEPHONE 714-492-7700 ext. 297 9/l: 0001 Unit operating at 390 MWe 9/2: 0332 The unit was tripped due to a failure of No. 1 regulated power bus resulting in a loss of feedwater flow indication and cohtrol.
Safety Injection Initiated due to low RCS pressure. The control operator noted that the Safety Injection System did not align properly. Safety Injection was terminated after an evaluation of plant conditions showed no evidence of a loss of coolant.
9/3:
The failed Twinco voltage regulator for No.1 regulated 120 volt bus was replaced by a new unit and tested satisfactorily.
The unit remained shut down for the rest of September for the redesign and testing of the Safety Injection System and its components.
