j We have received your' February 23, 1982 letter reporti 1c mpi tion of thefirstten-yearinserviceinspectionintervalforPointDeachNuclear Plant, Unit 1.
In enclosure 4 of your letter, you identified certain ASME Code XI and Technical Specification inservice inspection requirements not met during this first ten-year interval inspection for Unit 1.
These devia-tions to the requirements are under review by the NRC staff.
Your letter also requests interim approval of your Technical Specification Change Request No. 42, submitted to the NRC on February 17, 1977, unless the NRC staff's review is scheduled for completion "in the very near future."
Our present plans are to complete this review for your facilities by August 1982. Discussions with members of your staff indicate that this is acceptable and interim approval of your proposed Technical Specification 15.4.2.B.1 would not be required if the above target date is met.
In reviewing your responses we have found that we will need additional infor-mation identified in the enclosure to facilitate our review.
In order for us to maintain our review schedule, your response is requested within 30 days receipt of this letter.
