l To aid the Staff in their review, the attached responses cotr. pare number by numbar to the items identified in Appendicas A and B of ycur January 11, 1982 letter.
The defict<tncies of the 35EP Radio-logical Emergency Plan (Revision 2), which aru noted in Appendix C of your January 11, 1982 letter, are currently under review.
Changes to correct these deficiencies will be provided in accordance with 10CPR50.54(q), and will be co'epleted by May 11, 1982, as required in your letter.
CP&L believes that the. actions described in this letter are responsive to the commants. contained in your January 11, 1982 letter and, upon completion, should form a basis for concluding that Brunswick I

The Corporata Emergency Plan is currently being ravised to incor-porate changes made to the augmented emergency response organication as described in Revision 2 of the BSEP Hmorgency Plan.
This revision will be completed by April 15, 1982.

The ENS telephone er; tension in the TSC is operstional.

Carolina Power & Light (Cp6L) presently believes that personnel can h
travel freci the TSC to the Control Room in a tittely manner and that no additional procadures are required.

The RC&T procedurea to be used for in-plant surveys will be referenced in PEP-3.3.1 and PEP-3.3.2 by April 1, 1982.

The relationship between PHP-3.3.3 and RC&T-1500 will be identified in each prpredure-by April 1, 1982.

Precautionary notes and other appropriate conditions will be added to Procedura RC&T-1500 relative to sample preparation and handling for chloride and boron analysis..This will be accomplished by April 1, 1982.

Procedure RC&T-0150 will be revised by April 1,1982 to recognize that post-accident particulate and iodine samples from containment map contain significant quantities of radioactivity.

Provisions are being made to obtain an agreemedt for a second genersi practitioner for medical assistance.

Corporate Communications Implementation Procedures 4.6 and 5.2 address information liasions with State and Federal organir.ations.

Only personnel qualified to be team nembers would be asked to volunteer.
Preselecting team members wuld be difficult due to ahtft rotation.

PHP-4.3 has been approved by the Plant Nuclear Ssfety Cotsittee to impismant CPI,L's cornitment for drilla and eurcises.

PEP-4.3 will be ravised by April 1,1932 to require documentation for corrective actions resulting from drills and oxercises.

The Emargency. Plan Training /Ratraining Program was defined and approved by the Plant Nuclear Safety Committee on December 18, 1981.
This program will be fully inplemented by April 1,1982.

The procedura for performing initial offaite dose projection /
assessment was upgraded and approved by the Plant Nuclear Safety.
Committaa on November 6,1981.
Retraining on this procedure for l
appropriate personnel was completed, including unik-throughs, on i
January 6,'1982.
