Dear Mr. Youngblood:
We have received the final environmental impact statement (FEIS) for issuance of an operating license for the Call'aDiy fuelear Plant near Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri. As you are aware, a number of archeological sites and historic structures had previously been identified on the plant property, and further field survey work to identify and evaluate other sites which may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places has recently been completed. We hope the resulting report is available in the near future.
We agree with the general reasures identified on page 5-17, 7rovicing for development of a management plan for eligible sites en the plant nroperty as part of the operating license. Ecwever, please note that
- nis nanagement plan should be de celoped in consultation -ith the 41ssouri State Mistoric Pr'esercation Officer (SHPO) and the Council.
The plan can then provide the basis for an agreement among all parties to protect identified sites, and citigate any adverse effects cf plant operatien and related activities; such an agreement.cill complete yRC's ccepliance.eith Sectica 106 cf :he National Historic Preservation Act inc the Council's regulations (36 CFR Part 300).
