This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. R. Baer of this
office on December 1-4 and 14-18, 1981 at Waterford, Connecticut of activities
authorized by NRC License No. DPR-65 and to the discussions of our findings
held by Mr. Baer with Mr. E. Farrell of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the Office of Inspection
and Enforceme'nt Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, measurements made by
the inspector, and observatians by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspec, tion, no items of noncompliance were observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed ;in /.he NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office,

by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and stbmit written

application'to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of
