This relates to the problem of a foreign object, thought to be a steam generator nossle cover, being left in the primary system during the last Zion Unit 1 operating period. As discussed in a telephone conversation between you and Mr. D. Hayes of our office on March 5, 1981. it is our understanding that you will:
1.
Notify this office at least two days prior to renoval of any reactor internals to allow for NRC review of your inspection of the reactor vessel upper internals for locsa parts.
2.
Kotify this office at least two days in advance of closure of steam generators "B" and "D" to allow NRC inspection of the primary side.
3.
Obtain NRC concurrence prior to restart of Unit 1 beyond Mode 5 (cold shutdown).
If our understanding of your planned actions described above is not in accordance with the actual plans and action being isplemented, please coatset this office immediately.
