The llRC staff has initiated a substantial effort to bring current its approvals of inservice inspection relief requests. The purpose of this letter is to ensure that the information we are supplying to our contractors for review is current and reflects the latest require-nents for your facility.
For Arkansas liuclear One, Unit tio.1 our review will include your following previous submittals:
Letter: Cavanaugh to Zienann dated June 9,1976, Response to our letter dtd. April 20, 1976.
Letter: Cavanaugh to Davis dtd. October 19, 1977, ISI pmgram propose Technical Specifications and request for relief.
Letter: Williams to Reid dtd. flay 19, 1978, Request for additional relief.
Letter: Willians to Reid dtd. December 15, 1978 Response to request for infomation dtd. Septerrber 13, 1978.
Letter: Willians to Reid dtd. January 10, 1979, Request for one time relief for inspection of nozzle welds Any earlier subnittals on the subject of the ISI Progran will be con-sidered obsolete.
Based on submittals, the proposed inspection interval for this unit are:
April 19,1973 to August 19, 1981. Ilowever, the regulations would allow an inspection interval of April 19, 1978 to December 19, 1984. He will be conducting the review against the requirements of the 1974 edition of Section XI of the AS!!E Code up to and including the S-75 Addenda.
Please determine if there are any additional previous subnittals that we should be reviewing. Likewise, if there are any additional requests for relief that should be considered for the pmposed inspection interval (s),

fir. tillliam Cavanaugh, III flote that such requests should deal with only the inservice inspection of pressure-bearing components including supports and with system pressure tes ts. The inservice testing of pumps and valves is being treated separately and you will receive information regarding it by separate correspondence.
Your requests should include both exempted components under the terms of the code as well as relief fmm the requirements of the code in accordance with paragraph 9 of 10 CFR 50.55a. Also please advise when you are using later code versions than the S-75 Addenda (per Item (g)(4)(tv) of 10 CFR 50.55a) for certain examinations, particularly how you are meeting "all related requirements" fmm the same version.
lie may be contacting you for additional information. To expedite the review, please advise your assigned Project !!anager verbally as soon as possible (within 10 days) as to previous submittals we should be reviewing or other requests for relief that are forthcoming.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirencnts contained in this letter affect fewer than ten mspondents; therefore, OiB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
