Defect in Starting Air System Check Valve [RDC 43(82)]

Dear Mr. Keppler:

The interim report concerning subject deficiency states that our Final Report is scheduled to be submitted to ycur office by March 1, 1982.

As discussed with Mr. J. H. Neisler of your office on February 23, 1982, our Final Report is now scheduled to be submitted by May 28, 1982.

We were not if ted by Transamerica Delaval, the supplier of the diesel generators, that they are still working with Wm. Powell Company, supplier of the questionable starting air : heck valve, on the investigation of the depth of the problem.

Delaval now e3timates that the report for their investigation, including recommended corrective action, will be completed, by April 30, 1982.
