20555 BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NOS.1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-325 AND 50-324 LICENSE NOS. DPR-71 AND DPR-62 ADEQUACY OF STATION ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS VOLTAGES

Dear Mr. Vassallo:

In a letter to all licensees dated August 8, 1979 regarding Adequacy of Station Electric Distribution Systems Voltages, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) was provided guidance on evaluating voltage drops.

In response to this letter and to Mr. T. A. Ippolito's letter of August 16, 1979, CP&L provided submittals for Brunswick Steam Electric Plant Unit Nos. 1 and 2 dated October 8,1979; July 24,1980; October 15, 1980; February 16, 1981; and April 9, 1981.

The February 16. 1981 submittal transmitted the report entitled " Voltage Drop Study for 208/120 Volt Safety Related Loads", and the April 9, 1981 submittal transmitted the report entitled " Report on Site Test Voltage Study."

Further in-house review of the voltage drop study and the site test voltage study provided by our February 16, 1981 and April 9, 1981 submittals has identified certain discrepancies in the reports. We have reviewed these discrepancies and ~believe that they do not affect the con-clusions reached in these reports; nevertheless, we have directed our architect-engineer to investigate these discrepancies. When the results of this evaluation become available, we will forward any revisions to these reports which may be necessary to the NRC.

In the interim, we will keep the Brunswick project manager apprised of the status of the evaluation.

If you should require any additional information, please contact us.

Yours very truly,

^
