w' We have received a copy of your application dated December 8,1931 (LAC-7970),whichwasfiledwiththeOfficeofNuclearReactorRegulation (0!iRR) for review. This application proposed several Technical Specifica-tion changes for the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor. The changes have been determined to fall under the following subjects:
1.
piping Boundary (NUREG-0313) 2.
LCO's and SR's for completed fire protection modifications 3.
Organizational and other adednistrati"n items cleanup 4.
Degraded Grid Voltage A Class II fee of $1,200 was remitted with your letter dated January 7, 1982 (LAC-80ll), for the December 8 application. Based on a preliminary review of your application by the ONRR staff, it has been detemined that the paid Class II fee is appropriate for item 3 above.
Items 1 and 4 are separate issues which will each involve consideration of a single safety issue and,as such, will each require a Class III fee of $4,000 for a total of $8,000. No fee is being assessed for item 2 because we are exempting from fees those fire protection requests such as yours that were the subject of review prior to the 10 CFR 50.48/ Appendix R requirements. On this basis, we have determined that an exemption pursuant to 10 CFR 170.11(b) from the fee requirements of 10 CFR 170.22 is authorized by law, and such exemption is otherwise in the public interest and is hereby granted for the fire protection items in your December 8, 1981 application.
In consideration of the above, it is requested that your company remit an additional sum of $8,000 to our office.
If the ONRR staff's final review of your December 8 application reveals that these 4 es are incorrect, you will be notified and an adjustment will be made.
