EQUIPilEllT INSTALLAT10ll AT RAflCil0 SECO Our January 20, 1982 letter requested that you allow El1I monitoring equipment to be temporarily installed at the Rancho Seco plant for a period of seven days in April 1982. The purpose of the installation is to field test the EMI equipment Lawrence Livermore flational Laboratory (LL!!L) developed for us.
The NRC Resident Inspector was recently notified that you will permit installation and operation of the equipnent at Rancho Seco. Your willingness to cooperate with us on this matter is apprestated.
In order for us to determine the best eauipment and sensor placement locations, we would like to visit your plant for one riay on February 18, 1982.
We would like to review some FSAR naterial, P&I drawings and have a
" walk-thru" of the control room, cable spreading room and other areas that would be candidates for E!!! monitoring. We request that a member of your staff be available to discuss positioning of the monitoring equipment.
The following three NRC representatives will need access to Rancho Seco on February 18, 1982:
