m Mr Jerome Saltzman, Chief Antitrust & Indemnity Group Nuclear Reactor Regulation U S Nuclear Regulatory Cormission Washington, DC 20535 MII POLICY NF-179 DOCKET NO 50-255 Attached are three copies of Endorsement 73 to ANI Policy NF-179 for Palisades Nuclear Plant. This endorsement deletes the references to the " Canal Zone".
This change is in keeping with the Panama Canal Treaty of 1979 'in which jurisdiction of the Canal Zone reverted to the Republic of Panama.
Also, the policy definition of " insured shipment" was changed to include tailings as a covered class of material. This change was a result of the Mill Tailings Act of 1978 in which the definition of " byproduct material" was amended to include uranium mill tailings.
