The referenced letter requested the Supply System ascertain whether the " worst case" heat input was used for the weld proced'ure qualifi-cation testing perfonned in conjunction with the corrective action for item of noncompliance A (81-10/01).
The weld procedure, PXS-WPS-8A, Rev. 5, was qualified to the " worst case" heat input permitted by the WPS.
It should be noted that the definition of"" worst case" includes the Sumer 1980 addendum change to ASME Code Section IX. This allows the specified interpass tem-perature to be 100 F higher than experienced during the procedure qualification tests.
