Thank you for your letter dated January 19,1982, on e alf of your constituent, Helen Grace, who is concerned that hearings on the safety of the Indian Point nuclear reactors be held promptly.

Hearings on the Indian Point reactors have already started.

On January 21,

1982, an !iP,C Atomic Safety and Licensing Board held a hearing in Peekskill, N.Y.

Further hearings were held on January 22 and. 2,3 in i;ew City, ' Y.

There will be additional hearings on the safety of the Indian Point reactors beginning this spring. These hearings have not yet been scheduled.

However, I am providing copies of your letter an.d._that of I;s. Grace to the t'RC Docketing and Service Branch so that Ms. Grace's name can be added to the list of those who will be given direct notice of future hearings and decisions of the Board.
