As we approach the final stages of preparation of the Safety Evaluation P.eport for Byron Station, we find it necessary to detergiine the status of responses to questions that have been asked in our review of the byron F5AR. These include questions transaitted to you Dy mail with HRC review branches' identification numbers, as well as questions discussed at public meetings and documented in aceting suataries.
We have listed in Enclosures 1 arid 2 questions for which we have no record of a response, either by letter or by FSAR revision up to and including revision 36 to the Byron /oraicwood F5M. he recognize that you rady have responded t: a nuuber of these iteras in recent letters and FSAR revisions. However, to expedite the review process your assistance is requested in confirming the status of these itens.
You are requested to review Enclosures 1 and z.
It a response has been made to any of these questions, please identify a reference (letter and date) for each. Soue of these questions uay have been seemingly resolved in discussions with tne staff. hevertheless, such responses must be docketed by you. For those questions still requiring a response, iuaediate attention is required since tnese inputs were needed several weeks prior to the staff's Lt.K input date of January 7,1982. Please provide a schedule within seven days at your receipt of this letter indicating when you intend to respono to the outstanding questions. With regard to tne $LR scnedule, we must have satisfactory resporises to all questions within two weeks in order to neet the SLR schedule with no open iteus reraaining. We will continue to work closely with your statt to assure timely processing of your application.
