Dear Mr. Schwencer:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff prepared a report entitled
" Evaluation of the Environmental Effects T 'e to the Change in Cooling Systems at Nine Mile: Point Unit 2 From a Once-Throyh System To a Closed Cycle System.
Utilizing a Natural Draft _ Cooling Tower". Our review of this report indicates that it contains outdated information.
Since portions of this report may be referenced in the Graft and Final Environmental Statements curing the Operating License review for Nine Mile Point Unit 2 it should be updated. Correct and updated information will be provided in our Final Safety Analysis Report and Environmental Report scheduled for submittal in January 1963. The updating'of this report should not substantially alter the major conclusions previously establisheo regarding the environmental effects of the cooling tower.
