Gentlemen:
Thank you for reviewing your nuclear organization and facility status with us on November 20, 1981 in our Region I office.
Since that meeting, we have reviewed the status of our inspection program at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Unit 1.
We expect to complete our construction and preoperational inspections on a schedule which is consistent with the program of your construction and testing work.
In regard to closure of 10 CFR 5055(e) items, a recent inspection of this area covered all such items presented by you as complete, identified concerns we still have, and closed the others. We expect to maintain that condition.
Please have your staff identify any concerns they develop or ant'cipate in tnis area to our resident inspectors, and contact me or other regional management if you feel that a problem is developing.
We are preparing a listing of those open items which we believe should be resolved and closed before operating license issue is anticipated.
That listing will be regularly updated. Copies will be routir.ely provided to your site and QA management. We believe this will provide : mechanism for ready identification of needed actions.
