Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
IE BULLETIN 80-03 LOSS OF CHARC0AL FROM STANDARD TYPE II 2-INCH TRAY ADSORBER CELLS IE Bulletin 80-03 identified a potential concern relevant to the loss of charcoal from standard type II, 2-inch, tray adsorber cells for ventilation systems, and requested that a representative sample of our charcoal adsorber cells be visually inspected for such def4lencies as rivet spacing and screen / casing separation which could lead to a loss of charcoal.
Since charcoal adsorber cells have not' yet been purchased for North Anna -Unit 3, the problems identified by IE Bulletin 80-03 will be avoided by _ including appropriate provisions in the specifications to be used for the purchase of charcoal adsorber cells.
