Dear Mr. Faulkner:
Submittal of Working Papers for Licensing Review Group-II Iscues My November 10, 1981 letter to you outlined the LRG-II schedule for position paper submittals. In accordance with this schedule, we provided on November 20, 1981 Volume I of the LRG-II position papers which addressed 22 of the 56 issues. On December 3, 1981 Volume II of the position papers, which addressea four issues, was provided. The remaining nine position papers scheduled for December 1981 were not issued due to technical and review cycle problems.
During January, however, LRG-II completed position papers on six of these nine remaining December issues plus six more position papers scheduled for the March and May 1982 submittals. In addition, we have revised one position paper (1-HFS) since its original resolution was not fully satisfactory. These 13 position papers are provided in the attachuent titled "LRG-II Position Papers-Volume III".
The contents of the attached submittal will require us to revise our November 10, 1981 submittal schedule for the remaining 18 issues. Since you have recemmended that we accelerate our schedule to coincide with the current NRC review efforts for the Perry Project, wc plan to submit at least eight position papers by March 10, 1982 and the remaining ten papers by May 5, 1982.
