We have received copies of certain applications which the Authority filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR) for review. The applications were for various Technical Specification changes and otMr items related to Browns Ferry Units 1 and 3 and Sequoyah Units 1 and 2.
Enclosed is a list which shows the applications, fees paid, fees that are applicable and the basis for the ONRR staff's fee determination on each of the applications.
Under tne provision of 10 CFR 170.12(a), the USNRC may retain fees for withdrawn applications. However, tne ONRR staff have informed us that no formal revtew of your October 16, 1931 application for Browns Ferry 1 and your application (TS Change 164) for Browns Ferry 3 had commenced prior to withdrawal of the applications. On this basis, it has been determined that an exemption, pursuant to 10 CFR 170.ll(b), from the fee requirements of 10 CFR 170.22 is authorized by law and such exemption is otherwise in the public interest and is hereby granted for these two applications.
Based on the amounts paid and the ONRR staff's fee determinations, a total of
$10,400 is due the USNRC. Therefore, it is requested that this amcunt be remitted to our office.
If the ONRR staff's final review of items 5 & 7 on the enclosed list reveals that the requested fee is not correct, you will be notified and any necessary adjustment will be made.
