NPF-9 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Conanission (the Commission) has issued Anendcent No.11 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-9, issued to Duke Power Conpany l
(licensee) for the McGuire Nuclear Station Unit 1 (the facility) located in l
Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.
This amendnent permits operation above 90% rated thermal power for no nore I
than 48 hours5.555556e-4 days <br />0.0133 hours <br />7.936508e-5 weeks <br />1.8264e-5 months <br /> in order to verify the full power capability of the unit and the performance of the nodel D steam generator.
Issuance of this arrendment conplies with the standards and requirenents of the Atonde Energy Act of 1954, as auended (the Act), and the Coinaission's regu-lations. The Co;aaission has trade appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Cor. mission's regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the l
license anendment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since the amendnent does not involve a sijnificant hazards consideration.
The conmission has determined that the issuance of this amendmnt will not

result in any significant environnental impact and that pursuant to.10 CFR 51.5(d)(4) an environmental inpact stater.ent, or negative declaration and environ-mental inpact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of this amendment.
