Dear Mr. Clark:
i The Commission's Generic Letter 81-14, dated February 10, 1981, required all licensees to evaluate the seismic design of their auxiliary feedwater (AFW) systems.
In response to this letter, Omaha Public Power District's letter to the Commission, dated July 15, 1981, detailed the results of our evaluation of the Fort Calhoun Station AFW system seismic design. During a recent telephone conversation between Mr. C. Trammell of your staff and Mr. T. Patterson of the District, it was noted that the District's report did not address three IE Bulletins (79-04, 79-07, and 80-11) and IE Information Notice 80-21 that were identified in Generic Letter 81-14. Of the three bulletins, one (79-04) is not applicable to the Fort Calhoun Station (see the District's letter dated April 23, 1979), The other two bulletins (79-07 and 80-11) and IE Infonnation Notice 80-21 described concerns generic to all safety related systems. Therefore, the AFW system was included in the Dis-trict's evaluation of these generic concerns.
This letter is submitted to confirm that the District's evaluatian of these concerns, identified in the three bulletins and one notice discussed above, included the AFW system.
