DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 NUREG-0612 - CONTROL OF HEAVY LOADS AT NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS TRANSMITTAL OF NINE-MONTH RESPONSE AND UPDATED SIX-MONTH RESPONSE INFORMATION POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 Your letters of December 22, 1980 and February 3, 1981 requested that Wisconsin Electric Power Company review the handling of heavy loads at Point Beach Nuclear Plant and provide information as requested in Enclosure 2 to the December 22, 1980 letter.
The enclosed report, " Response to NRC Request for Information on Control of Heavy Loads, Nine-Month Report", provides the requested information.
Modifications will be required to the existing interim load handling procedures in place at Point Beach as a result of the analyses performed in the preparation of the nine-month response.
It is expected that these modifications to the existing interim procedures will be in place by March 1, 1982 unless otherwise specified in the response.
We expect to be able to complete the equipment modifications that we have found necessary as a result of this review within two years.
Also enclosed is updated information which should be included in the report titled " Response to NRC Request for Information on Control of Heavy Loads, Six-Month Report".
This information should be included in your existing copies of the six-month report as indicated in the attached " Instructions for Page Change".
