Subj: Interim 10CFR 50.55(e) Report - Undersize Socket Welds

Dear Mr. Madsen:

The purpose of this letter is to update the referenced report concerning 3

the undersize socket welds found in Wolf Creek Generating Station Unit No. 1 piping.

As of December 29, 1981, there are 36 pipe spread:3 remaining which require-physical examination. By January 30, 1982 the physical inspection will be

complete and by February 28, 1982 the final report' documentation will be assembled.
