Dear Mr. Ippolito:
Amendment No. 67 to the CNS Facility Operating License issued MAPLHGR curves with a penalty imposed due to enhanced fission gas to operate beyond 30,000 MWD /t.
The District was informed by the staff that in order for these penalties to be removed, additional assurance regarding this issue is required. This letter is written to provide the information requested.
General Electric has advised the District that the information contained in References 1 and 2 is applicable to Cooper Nuclear Station. The peak cladding temperatures for each fuel type given in NEDO 24045 " Loss-of-Coolant Accident Analysis Report for Cooper Nuclear Power Station" Errata and Addenda Sheets Numbers 1, 2, and 3 (additional copies enclosed) are in accordance with References 1 and 2.
Additionally, the values on these Errata and Addenda Sheets do not take credit for improvements in ECCS evaluation models presented in References 1 and 2.
