On January 23, 1981, the Commission issued Operating License NPF-9 (zero power) for the HrGuire Nuclear Station.- Unit 1.
On July 8.-1981 the. license was amended to authorize full power (100%) operation.. As required by 10 CFR 170.21, an operating license fee of $1,024,500 was paid for the issuance of the operating license.
In accordance with Footnote 3 of Section 170.21, the' costs incurred in the processing and issuance of the McGuire 1 operating license have been reviewed and they substantially exceed the maximum fee of $1,024,500 pre-scribed by the Commission's regulations. Since the maximum fee prescribed by regulation for an operating license has been paid, no additional operating license fee is required for McGuire.1.

SUBJECT:
McGUIRE 1 OPERATING LICENSE REVIEW COSTS On January 23, 1981 the Commission issued a zero power license for McGuire 1.
The license was amended on July 8, 1981 to authorize full power operation.
In accordance with Footnote 3 of Part 170.21, we have reviewed the costs incurred by the various program offices directly involved in the processing and issuance of the McGuire 1 operating license. Attached is a sumary of the review costs as well as the supporting documentation from the program offices. The attachment shows that to date a total of $2,192,466 has been expended for the review of McGuire 1.
Since the maximum fee ($1,024,500) prescribed by regulation has been paid, no additional operating license fee is required for McGuire 1.
