Dear Honorable Commissioners:

1 Iwouldliketocalltoyourattentionsomealarminginformationwnd' was recently passed on to me. e This data, if accurate, would call into further question the viability of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.

Evidently, Unit 1 Joes not meet the earthquake standards called for under NRC guidelines and the predictions of possible quake in the San Onofre vicinity. Units 2 and 3 are up to standard, yet the older, more vulnerat;ie Unit 1 is not.

Further, Unit 1 is also subject to considerable " embrittlement" that would make the Unit even more fragile in the event of an earthquake.

l I am greatly concerned about the safety of my constituents and I am not convinced that the condition of San Onofre Unit 1 would merit my confidence.

Thank you for your attention.
