LICENSE AMENDMENT APPLICATION DATED DECEMBER 4,1981 I.
Backcround Pacific Gas and Electric is licensed under NRC Materials License No. SNM-1657 for the receipt and storage of fuel for eventual use in the Diablo Canyon Unit 2.
The license is scheduled to expire December 31, 1981.
The application requests that the license expiration date be extended to June 30, 1982.
II.
Discussion The need for an extension of the license expiration date is due to licensing delays.
Extending the expiration date does not affect the radiological safety, nuclear safety, or other parameters on which the issuance of the license was based.
III.
Recomendation On the basis of the above, I reco:: mend that the license extension, as rf. quested by the licensee, be approved.

In accordance with 10 CFR 70.33 Pacific Gas and Electric Ccrpany hereby requests the Ccrnissian to renew Materials License No. SDI-1667 extending the expiration date to June 30, 1982. Pene.ral of this license is necessary to allcw additicnal time to ccuplete the lice:tsing process.
We have not applied for renewal of License No. ST4-1503 since the Special Nuclear Material License for Unit 1 is included as part of the Facility Cp.zating License DPR-76.
