Reference (a) transmitted I.E. Bulletin 80-1)i'hicThh identified instances of cracking in Core Spray Spargers'at 2sd facilities.
As required by Bulletin Item 1, our Quad Cities Unit 2 Core Spray Spargers were visually inspected on September 15, 1981, utilizing a remote underwater TV camera. The segment of piping between the inlet nozzle and vessel shroud was also inspected on each Core Spray loop. Adequate resolution was obtained with the underwater TV camera.
No evidence of cracks was identified during the conduct of the above described inspection.
It is acknowledged that the Bulletin requires subsequent refueling outage inspections at all Commonwealth Edison Company 4
operating BWRs until further notice.
