Ignatonic of NRC Region 11, Atlanta, GA was notified of this deficiency by W. O. Henry, J. M. Curtis, and J. E. Cavender of Duke Power Company, Charlotte, NC 28242. This notification was a result of potentially reportable item CA-81-59 Thirty-Day Follow-Up Report REC 0 determined on December 3, 1981 that six weld seams on the Unit 2 tank ccntain one or more unacceptable weld metal defects and four otter weld seams have radiographs which are unacceptable in accordance with ASME Section Ill. These welds will require repairs and reexamination by RECO.
