Request for Exemption from 10 CPR 50.48 for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station
Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
In accordance with telephone conversations with the Peach Bottom Project Manager (December 8, 1981), this letter revises the request for exemption to the implementation schedules identified in 10 CFR 50.48, subsection (c)(2) and (d)(2) regarding fire protection modifications.
The revised request for exemption is as follows:
Philadelphia Electric Company hereby requests an exemption to regulations 10 CFR 50.48(c)(2) and (d)(2).for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station to extend the date to January 29, 1982, for completion of the following fire protection modifications:
1)
Sprinkler systems in the recirculation pump M-G set lube oil pump rooms, and in the M-G set rooms.
2)
Early warning detection systems (smoke detectors) in the areas discussed in the March 20, 1981 letter, and the automation of the cable spreading ob

Additionally, Philadelphia Electric Company hereby requests an exemption to regulations 10 CFR 50.48 (c)(2) and (d)(2) for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station to extend the date to March 31, 1982, for completion of electrical supervision of fire doors as approved in the staff's Supplement No. 1 to the Safety Evaluation of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Fire Protection Program, item 3.2.6 (R.

Bauer, dated August 14, 1980).
A description of compensatory measures implemented while the modifications are being completed is provided in correspondence dated October 14, 1981 (J.
