Emergency Preparedness Appraisal Report from James G. Keppler to E. R. Mathews dated October 29, 1981 Pu rsuan t to 10CFR50 - Appendix E, Wisconsin Public Service Corporation hereby eubmits ten copies of the Kewaunce Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Plan, attached.

By copy of this letter, three cnpies of the plan are hereby submitted to Mr. James G. Keppler, Director, US NRC, Rcgion III, Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

An a result of our NhC Emergency Preparedness Inspection and the subsequent Findings Report (see reference), we are required to revise and upgrade by March 1,1982, the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Plan dated Jai uary 1981. The attached revised plan meets this commitment.

Our emergency preparedness upgrade has required WPS to prmide additional equipment and facilities to support the emergency organization.

The attached plan utilizes brackets to indicate equipment or f acilities that is currently being purchased or constructed.

Interim facilities are designated until completion of the permanent facilities.

The attached plan will be revicued and upgraded on an annual basis.
