SUBJECT:
_HilCLEAR ENGINEERING, BEATTY, NEVADA SHIPMENT OF REPRKAGED CONTAINERS Enclosed is the report of an inspection conducted at Beatty, Nevada subsequent to the repackaging of leaking containers of radioactive waste at the low level disposal facility.
Radiation level measurements and checks for removable contamination were conducted on six repackaged containers. Trailer loading and placarding were observed. The container repackaging process was discussed.
The inspectors remained on-site after the shipment left so that the NRC would have representatives at NECO in case Governor List signed the Order to reopen the radioactive material disposal yard. The Order was not signed during this inspection.
