Montgomery of this office on October 19-22, 1981, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. NPF-4 and NPF-7 for the North Anna facility and to the discussion of our findings held with Mr. W. R. Cartwright, Station Manager at the conclusion of the ' inspection. Area:: examined during tha inspection and our findings are discussed in the acciosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of uelective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors. The Region II Mobile Laboratory was also brought to your site and used by the inspectors to make certain independent measurements. The basic purpose of these independent measurements is to verify your capability for analyzing radioactive effluents, and to achieve and maintain comparable methods of analyses between your facility and the NRC. The complete data from these meast rements will be reported in a subsequent Inspection Report. . Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were disclosed. In accordar.ce with -10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure (s) will be plar.=J in the NRC's Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written application to withhold into.mtion contained therein within thirty days of the date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the requirements of 2.790(b)(1). Should you have any questions concerning this letter, we will be glad to discuss them with you. Sincerely, P. J.
